I came across this tag on Realms of My Mind and I wanted to try it. I wasn’t tagged to do this post. I just wanted to do it for fun.
So without further ado, let’s get started.
Series or standalone?
Hmmm…. I feel that some books, especially fantasy or sci-fi genres, would benefit more from a series as you can explore the world building and the magic systems. However, I feel that some books might get a bit long and boring if the story is being prolonged. But if I had to choose… I’d choose series.
Magic Earned or Magic Born?
Hmm… Personally, I’d choose the magic born because I’d feel that the person would have much better control of their powers as they have grown up with it.
Enemies to Lovers or Friends to Lovers?
Definitely friends to lovers. I think that there is a better foundation of trust and relationship. I mean who wouldn’t want a best friend as a partner!
Love Triangle or Insta-Love?
Urgh.. I hate them both. Insta-Love is unrealistic and is not considered “love” but rather “infatuation”. And as I have said before, I just don’t understand Love Triangles. I mean why you would fight over one person who clearly doesn’t know what they want and likes to leave people hanging. However, I think Love Triangles have the potential to be done right. So I’d rather choose Love Triangle.
Keyboard Smash Names or Names That All Start With the Same Letters?
Ooh! well I’m up for keyboard smash names. I’m terrible at remembering and pronouncing names in real life so I don’t think this would be any different
Mean Parents or Dead Parents?
Oof… I think I’d have to go with Dead Parents. I’m not a huge fan of family drama. They just stress me out. Plus, I think it makes for a better character development.
Supermodel looks or constantly Saying how “Plain” they are?
Hmmm… I think I’d go for the supermodel looks because I’d rather have someone own the fact that they are good looking rather than someone constantly say how “plain” they are (even though they’re not). It just makes the character seem insecure and want attention.
Face on Cover or Typography on Cover?
I’d prefer… typography on the cover. I just love the way that typography covers have that abstract feel leaving the book open for interpretation.
Villain turning a little good or Hero turning a little bad?
Hmmm… as much as I’d love a redemption story, I’d rather read a hero turning a little bad. I mean usually, heroes are portrayed as these shining beacon of light and are held at such a flawless standard. It’s nice to see some grit or grime into their characterisation. Makes things more interesting.
Best friend dies or Lover dies?
Personally, I’d rather have a lover die. I know this makes me look like I hate Love but I promise you, I don’t. It’s because best friends have more history and have been there for you through thick and thin. I just think that I’d be more devastated if I had lost my best friend rather than my lover.
Awesome writing with dull plot or amazing plot with murderously bad writing?
Ummm… Definitely awesome writing with a dull plot. I just can’t stand bad writing. I don’t know if that makes me sound pretentious but I find myself finishing books with dull plots rather than books with an amazing plot with bad writing. I usually DNF those pretty fast.
Cliffhanger ending or heartbreaking ending?
Ooh… I think I’d go for a cliffhanger ending because that means that there is a next books that may rounds out the story to a more satisfying ending.
Breaking the spine or dog-earring the pages?
This question actually hurts my soul. Neither. Not ever. And if I find someone who does these to my books…..
I’m only joking… or am I?
“Bad boy” or “Perfect golden boy” Love Interest?
Mmmm… I think I’d choose the perfect golden boy. I know that golden boys usually have a reputation of being “boring” but I think that they would make a stable partner in all the crap that the main character goes through. I just don’t think I could also handle another set of drama from the “bad boy” love interest.
If you would like to do this tag then you’re more than welcome to do so!
What did you think of my answers? would you have done differently?
I’D LOVE TO KNOW!
Until Next Time,
