The “I Should Have Read That Book” Tag

Hi Readers!

Welcome to another Tag Thursday! This week’s chosen tag is the “I Should Have Read That Book” Tag which was done over at The Elven Warrior.

Once again I wasn’t tagged, I just thought it would be fun! If you would like to do this tag with me, you are more than welcome too!

Now without further ado, let’s get started!

A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read

I don’t really have many book-loving friends in real life. I know… the struggle. But since my best friend has seen the movie, The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, and read the book. She has been raving about it and has been telling me to read it too.

The thing is, contemporary novels are not really my thing. I haven’t really found a contemporary novel that I have enjoyed. So I’m not sure if this book is something I’m going to want to read in the future. But maybe, if my curiosity will eat away at me, I’ll consider reading it.

A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.🙈 Ok. Before you judge me, know that I have been abstaining from reading for 3 years because of being at University. Therefore, I wasn’t able to actually read this book, even if I wanted to…well.. I mean… I guess I have time now… *awkward silence*…

Ok ok. you win. you can judge me. I’ve just been prolonging it because I’m scared that I’m going to hate. Its such a well-loved book, but not my usual genre so I don’t know if I’m going to love it or not. Sigh. One day I’m just gunna have to bite the bullet and read this book.

A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. I know this series is quite a popular one but after reading the first book I’m quite reluctant to reading the rest of the series. However, I have been hearing good things about the second book in the series and my curiosity has been piqued by the constant meme posted in Instagram.

Therefore, I might be carrying on with this series. However, I’m going to take my time and recover from the first book.

A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read

I have always wanted to read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I’ve heard many good things about this books but because classic books often are quite long and have complex sentence structures, I’m a bit intimidated to start reading them.

Even so, I will try to attempt it later in the year when I have gotten used to reading books with complex structures and texts.

A popular book that it seems everyone but you has read

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I have been seeing this been floating around the book community for ages. I really want to start reading all the books from this series but I just haven’t been able to get my hands on a copy yet!

A book that inspired a film/TV adaptation that you really love, but you just haven’t read it yet

I really loved the Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien movies when I was growing up but for some reason, I just haven’t picked up the books for a read. I know! Blasphemy! But I really do want to get round to reading the series but because I have the all-in-one book it just looks so intimidating!

One of these days I’ll have the courage to pick it up and read it. But for now, it will be sitting at my bookshelf glaring at me until I pick it up and read it.

Have you done the I Should Have Read That Book Tag? Which books should you have read but haven’t?

I’D LOVE TO KNOW

Until Next Time,

Jaz xoxo
