Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo – 47%
I’m actually liking this story so far. The world building in this book is phenomenal. I can see why this series has been hyped up. However, I am a little unsure about our main character Alina. For some reason, I hate being in her head. She just seems like a very insecure and bitter person.
The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang – 15%
I’m really really loving this book! I love how the author has based certain events in this book with real historical events and she has woven then into this fantasy world that she has created. It’s brilliant!
Sadie by Courtney Summers | ★★★☆☆
Honestly, I don’t really know what to say for this book. I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s a good book. It really kept you at the edge of our seat and wanting to know what will happen next. So, if you are planning to read this book, I would strongly recommend you listening to the Audiobook.
However, even though I felt that this book was written beautifully, it was just a bit too dark for me. Hence, why it took me soo long to finish it. Considering the amount of dark themes it brought up, it’s the kind of book that you need to be in the right mood for.
Overall, I don’t hate this book but I don’t think it was for me.
